About Us.

The Undergraduate Politics & Law Journal at Fairleigh Dickinson University was founded in 2022. The journal provides undergraduate students with opportunities to explore legal and political issues (broadly understood) and collaborate with faculty and student editors to publish articles. The journal experience is enriching at the undergraduate level and provides students with an important entry in their scholarly portfolio.

In addition to articles published in the flagship journal, we regularly accept and publish online blog posts. Our blogs are shorter in length and written with a somewhat less scholarly tone. Our blog posts are not limited to undergraduate students but are open to graduate students, professors, and practitioners. While all journal articles are subject to competitive review by our student and faculty editors, some blog entries will be solicited.

Fairleigh Dickinson University is the largest private university in New Jersey. It is a global institution with over 12,000 students, four campuses, and three countries.

Words From the Editors-in-Chief & Senior Managing Editor

“As an undergraduate student, I know firsthand the hard work that students put into their research and writing; there are, however, relatively few spaces where undergraduates can publish and receive recognition for such work. I set out to change that. The idea for me was about creating one more opportunity, one more platform, not for myself but for all the students who will come after me who wish to publish and receive acknowledgment for their work at an undergraduate level. ”

— BRIANA LOURO

Founder & Editor-In-Chief

“There is so much going on in the world today, which is why it is so important for people, especially younger generations, to learn and share their findings to help promote change. At the UPLJ, we have created two spaces for students to do just that.”
